We now carry a wide range of Japanese shoulder pads, in 3 different styles and a variety of thicknesses. These are displayed in the images on a size 10 dress form.
There are raglan shoulder pads, folded edge shoulder pads, and straight edge shoulder pads.
RAGLAN SHOULDER PADS
There are great for a soft finish at the shoulder - they’re perfect for cut-on sleeves, raglan sleeves, and anything with an extended, shaped shoulder. We have them in 3 sizes:
R-01 a classic raglan shoulder pad that’s 1/2” thick. It gives lovely definition and has a beautiful shape
R-02 small raglan shoulder pads - just the little bit of definition - in a soft blouse, for instance
R-03 medium raglan shoulder pads - a little bit more structure that creates a nicely defined shoulder
FOLDED EDGE SHOULDER PADS
There are softly defined at the outer edge; they curve softly, and would fit beautifully into a set-in sleeve. We have them in 3 sizes:
F-01 small folded edge shoulder pads - these are about 3/8” thick, and would be beautiful in a dress or a jacket
F-02 medium folded edge shoulder pads - these are also about 3/8” thick, and are perfect in a jacket or a light-weight coat
F-03 large folded edge shoulder pads - these are a bit of a hybrid, with an extended, soft edge. They’re nice and sturdy, and would be beautiful in a coat. They’re 1/2” thick, with a lovely curve.
STRAIGHT EDGE SHOULDER PADS
These have a straight outer edge, and come in 4 sizes. What I love about them is that they can be customized - the three larger sizes are easy to open up and adjust to whatever height you need. And all four of them are shaped so that there’s a front and a back - in all cases, the round edge goes to the front, and the pointed edge goes to the back.
S-01 small straight edge shoulder pads - these are about 3/8” thick. They’re a lovely size when you don’t want too much, but just a bit of definition. There is a front and a back.
S-02 medium straight edge shoulder pads - these are about 1/2” thick. They’d give nice definition to a jacket or a coat. There is a front and a back.
S-03 large straight edge shoulder pads - these are nearly an inch thick. They are sturdy - they’d give a very defined line to a coat or even a jacket. There is a front and a back.
S-04 mini shoulder pad - these are about 1/4” thick, and you wouldn’t think they’d do much - but in fact, they can make just enough of a difference to a light weight garment. They’re perfect in a silk blouse, for instance, for just the slightest bit of shaping and structure. And while it’s minimal, there is a front and a back.
