Other Teaching Events
In addition to her 6-day seminars, Susan is sought-after as a teacher and lecturer for shorter events. Listed here are the venues at which she is scheduled to appear. The Kenneth King Sit-and-Sew costs $800 with a $300 deposit
The class is fairly open in its format; we’ll be working every day from 9-5.30, and the choice of what you decide to focus on is really up to you.
Students in the past have worked on a range of projects: pattern work, fitting muslins, putting something together with couture techniques, rescuing a stalled project, diving into something that’s entirely new for you, working with unfamiliar fabrics, finishing something up, getting our design input on a project……it’s your choice.
So, as you can imagine, not only will you benefit from the input of two teachers, you’ll see a whole range of projects being worked on in the classroom.
We’ll be working in a private studio – it’s comfortable, well-lit, and it works out beautifully as a place to hold classes, and there’s a Joann Fabrics just up the road for any forgotten supplies.
You’ll want to bring your own machine as well as your standard sewing supplies (be sure to label them). The lighting in the studio is very good, but you might want to bring a work light for any close-up sewing.
